"My country tis of thee, sweet land of liberty . . ."

The below is from the erroneous Waco newspaper article, which Jason was not allowed to submit proof to the contrary, despite his attorneys, family and friend's efforts, which would have disproved this article with a demanded 'retraction.'  The Waco Tribune refused.

Jason did not sue.

Waco man liked to put a Ph.D. after his name

WACO, Texas -- Jason Leigh liked to put a Ph.D. behind his name.

My 'corrections' (Jason Leigh) are inserted in red font. Also: I DO have a Ph.D.!!! It is, however, a 'mail order' one, although perfectly legal. By the way: I have never lived in Waco, Texas. I was simply there during the 'stand off.' Why do they call me a 'Waco Man?' Your guess is as good as mine.

But his phony doctorate fell away in court Monday. The man who held police at bay Sunday for 14 hours outside Waco's Veterans Affairs Regional Office told U.S. Magistrate Dennis Green that he's still shy of his associate's degree.

Not so! I told the judge that I DID have an Associate's degree! Geesh! The newspaper reporter (Jen Sansbury) would have discovered that, if she had looked further into the story. Remember that I was 'under oath.' See the below name issue:

Leigh, 49, is not quite who he seems to be.

In fact, he used to be Randal Leigh Brown, born Nov. 30, 1948, in Corsicana. During his court appearance Monday morning, he told federal officials he legally changed his name in 1980.

What the reporter fails to mention in trying to discredit me in anyway possible, is that I 'legally' changed my name in Federal court in 1980 for 'artistic' reasons. It is a Federal law that no one can change their name if they have a previous police record. Since I had never been arrested prior to the name change; I was granted the change. My reasoning? Would you buy a book by a man called, Randy Brown, or one by a Jason Leigh? Note that 'Leigh' was my actual middle birth name. My attorney was Ms. Paula Parrone in New Orleans. My father wanted to name me 'Jason' anyway. Oh yes: and the reporter forgot to put a 'Jr.' as my surname. "Just the facts, mum. Just the facts."

On his Internet web page, Leigh claims to have a "degree in electronics" and appends "Dr." or "Ph.D." to his name. But Monday he said his "electronics education" at Delgado Community College in New Orleans did not result in a degree.

That's correct. I graduated from 'Elkins Institute of Electronics' with a First Class F.C.C. (Federal Communications Commission) license. At that time, I was informed that I was the youngest person in America to hold this license. I took all three license tests (3rd class, 2nd class, 1st class) in one day, making 100% on each test; something that had never been done before, or so I was told by the F.C.C. Official in New Orleans.

He said he attended several other universities.

Yes, I did! They got this correct! I attended 5 universities in all, plus Elkins Institute and The Columbia school of Broadcasting in New Orleans, graduating from both.

Leigh apparently spent a good deal of time online. An Internet search of Leigh's name turns up scores of references to UFOs and the paranormal, but not a single reference to veterans' issues. Even fellow believers appear to question Leigh.

The Ufomind Paranormal Research Index web page lists Leigh among the "UFO researchers and witnesses whose educational credentials are challenged by evidence to the contrary."

No information on me can be found at the above website. Period. I recall writing to the web master of that site and we exchanged emails, but that's all I recall. Another Waco newspaper lie. (Don't believe me? Go here: http://www.ufomind.com an run a search of my name). That website shut down when the owner was arrested for 'child abuse.' They should be ashamed, but I'm certain that they are not. That's their business: to cause grief and to spread shame. They sure made David Koresh a hero, now didn't they? The walls of that newspaper's offices are filled with photos of Koresh lining the walls. I have been there twice, to pled with them to correct the lies they printed about me when I saw them looming in a ghostly fashion. Recall that David Koresh was a convicted 'child molester,' and certainly an evil man.

On the computer bulletin boards of ParaScope, a site featuring UFO and conspiracy theory reports, he was criticized as "a person who blows a lot of hot air."

This was one person's view after a post I had made at that website, defending my UFO video and 'Factual Findings.' They (the Waco newspaper and reporter) did not mention the HUNDREDS of other BBS members who posted positive things to say about me. Why? Anyone who knows what a 'BBS' is, also knows that that one is an 'unmoderated' posting place where anyone can say just about anything. The BBS postings were opinions!!!

The director of the International UFO Museum and Research Center in Roswell, N.M., which gives Leigh the computer memory space for his website, said he has misrepresented himself.

"Basically, we don't have any connection to him other than that he had a UFO sighting," director Deon Crosby said. "He needed to hang his hat on someone and I understand that he has actually claimed to be a representative of this museum and he's not."

What a regrettable lie. I was asked to post my articles and 'Factual Findings' relating to my UFO videos and sightings by this very person. Since the museum posted my articles and gave me the web space: I also had a return email address there. Now how is that 'claiming to be a representative?' I NEVER stated to anyone that I was a 'representative' of the Roswell museum. Interesting note: the Roswell museum had millions of 'hits' once the 'Stand Off' story broke in the major media, but my articles and essays were not dropped until AFTER the 'hits' slowed down. They sell goofy little UFO trinkets and posters, as well as other 'Flying Saucer' memorabilia 'for profit,' one should bear in mind. This same woman, Deon Crosby, was fired by the Board at the Roswell museum for reasons I will not mention here. I am trying to clear my name: not hers.

Leigh also purports online to be "absent any police record," but court records show he was convicted in 1992 for carrying a .22-caliber handgun into the Johnson County Community Credit Union. He was given a year's probation and a $300 fine on the misdemeanor charge, said Karen Alexander, chief deputy for court services for the Johnson County clerk's office in Cleburne.

The reporter fails to mention that I was withdrawing $10,000.00, being one of the highest depositors there. My attorney at the time, a retired judge, John McLean of Cleburne, Texas, told me that the case was 'erased from public records' (called an 'expongement') and that if I were ever asked if I had a record, to state that I did not. You can call him and ask him if this is the truth or not. The clerk at the court house made a mistake by telling the reporter of this article, otherwise. I could have sued her for that, but I did not. Poor people can't and don't sue Federal Courts. 'Period. Prior to that: I never even had so much as a traffic ticket in my entire life!!!

In writings found on the Internet, Leigh says he is a Vietnam Veteran who served as a military policeman and Navy SEAL.

Correct. I was attached to the Hawaiian Armed Services Police in Honolulu. I also 'worked' with Navy SeaLs and the Navy Intel, but my National Security oath prevents me from any further mention of this issue, for life. If I decide to (I am really growing weary of defending my records and life) post this proof (such as my ID card from the Military Police), we will supply a link to it herein and elsewhere. But why bother? People are going to believe what they want to believe, unless they look at BOTH SIDES OF THE COIN.

Leigh served in the US Navy from November 1966 to May 1967, according to Rick DuCharme, regional director of public affairs for the US Department of Veterans Affairs.

"That's not long enough to even become a SEAL," said Lt. Cmdr. Hal Pittman, director of the news desk for the Navy Office of Information in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

This may be a correct statement, but it is possible to have been trained within six weeks for certain things (just as a college semester is six weeks) with the SeaLs and to have gotten 'limited' training in certain fields, and of course: if one hits the Bull's eye in one shot: why waste 99 other bullets?

In fact, in six months in the Navy, one could accomplish "pretty little," Pittman said.

Neither VA nor Naval officials could confirm Monday what Leigh's rank, specialty or assignment was in the Navy.

Oops. Now, isn't this strange coming from the Pentagon AND the VA, not to know of my rank and my former assignments? I was enlisted for over eight months, not six, and the Navy and Pentagon couldn't even tell them that? Could it be that I was indeed involved in 'covert duty' and all of that information is protected by National Security? I just ask the reader to weigh the evidence here, and ask yourself why they didn't know the above; or did they???

However, DuCharme said Leigh's assertion that the VA has lost his claim for benefits is not true.

I never related that the VA had lost my 'claim for benefits.' What they had lost was my entire file! This is proven by a letter the VA in Waco sent to me in March of 1998, which lead to my actions taken down in Waco on March 8, 1998: 'The Stand Off' itself (This letter will be posted at  http://JasonLeigh.Org  once our litigations are completed with the VA. My attorney has informed me that I should not post the letter until after the litigation for obvious reasons. I have been in litigation for nine [9] years now). Also: they had informed me and a reporter, back in 1995, just after the proven UFO video and reports, that my 'entire VA file' had been oddly, 'misplaced.' We all know how 'files' can go 'missing' when UFO reports are filed, and most certainly if one just so happens to have been 'proven' to have been a 'space ship from another world.' Please see: http://JasonLeigh.Org/contentvideo.html This newspaper article, and a few others, forget to mention that the main reason I conducted the 'stand off' was relating to the 'homeless Veterans in America.' That's why I started 'S.O.S.' (Save Our Soldiers)!!!

"It's present and accounted for," he said.

Officials have not discussed details about Leigh's complaints against the VA, but US Attorney Bill Johnston said more information will come out Thursday during a scheduled hearing.

A federal agent close to the case said Leigh appears to have "a very active imagination."

This alleged 'federal agent' has never been identified, nor was he (or she) identified in Federal court. This was a complete and total lie told by the reporter. Why? Shouldn't we know who our detractors are? Besides: I am a published song writer/novelist/poet, so I take that statement from whomever (if anyone) said it--as a complement. Wouldn't you?  ;-)
Sincerely, in truth,
Jason Leigh
Honorably Discharged, U.S. Navy Veteran, Vietnam.
