Heartbeat
The Drums beat
the heartbeat of Mother Earth.
She stands beside me in the misty form
of Spirit: always here--
always there--I am aware . . .
The sun sets
with the final beat of the drums,
as the wolf trots home to his mate
and the eagle soars to his family nest.
We are alone-within
the mist--I hold her in my arms.
Gently I sing the love song
of my heart that breathes
the breath of hope--into the future.
The night is
followed by the fullness of Sister Moon,
and the stars point their way to the
Heavens--
where all of love is born.
We dance
together-the 'spirit dance' amid
the wonders of life: all things
great and small
. . .
And the drums beat the heartbeat of
Mother Earth--within my longing heart.
All--is beautiful, . . tonight.
